Hey! I'm Jurby! And this is my website FurbyZoo!

I've been a big fan of Furbys (yes, unfortunately the official plural spelling is "Furbys" and not "Furbies"!) for the majority of my life now! Though this website is primarily dedicated to Furbys and my collection/experiences with them, I hope to also feature other uniquely "old web" and "nostalgiabait" early 2000s stuff! Think like, Beanie Babies, Pokemon, IDogs, or whatever else I want. And probably also general collection stuff too!

Enough about that, here's some stuff about me in case you want to know:

I'm 24 and was born in 2002. I JUST missed the Furby craze by a couple years, but I grew up playing with the hand-me-downs from my older siblings. I got my first NEW Furby for christmas 2012 (the at the time newest reboot) AND my first laptop that same year. I was taught to use google and the first thing I searched for was "free minecraft" and the second thing I searched was "furby websites", and I found a quaint little corner of the web called the FurbyFunhouse. I was very engrossed by this website and it's framing, and it spurred a lifelong interest into a passion right then and there.

I got into "serious" collecting as a teenager several years later. My first purchase was a Santa special edition and a black Shelby, so they have a fond place in my heart. Almost every Furby I own (with the exception of a lucky few,) were purchased as broken, non working and slowly brought to life. My joy in collecting comes primarily from restoration of what is essentially garbage or ewaste to most. I am not an expert at repair but I've worked with well over 100+ Furbys so I know my way around their innards!

As for why I like Furbys? Couldn't tell you! Just do! I've always had an affinity for monsters like dragons and griffins, and Furbys are essentially little griffin creatures, so I guess it tracks that I find them endearing!

Now if that's not enough personal information, here's way too much more:

-Aside from Furbys and other early 2000s toylines and tech, I'm also crazy into biology, Hence the zoo theme. My favorite animals are snakes, and I am studying to work with them on a professional level. I also love animatronics, games, dinosaurs, and other shit that I have probably forgotten the existence of.

-My craziest Furby purchase was my New-in-box Kid Cuisine I found at an antique mall for just $100. Sadly I was 15 and opened it because 15 year old gonna 15 year old. Yes I regret it. But the box was disgusting so I guess it was the right call in the end!

-I run another website, Pantherophisparadise.neocities.org! I don't ever fucking update it because I'm lazy, but it's there!
